Hut, HUt, HUT!!!

Happy days are here again, fellow beer drinkers. It's football season; do you know what that means? You can drink beer on Sundays before noon and nobody can give you hell. You see, it's all a part of Sunday football tradition. You can start at 9 a.m. if you want with some full-flavored ale accompanied by a bratwurst for breakfast. To us, it's perfectly acceptable.

As a matter of fact, we like to think it is the most desirable way to start your Sunday during football season. It just makes sense. It's what being a good citizen is all about. That's why we open early and have special football breakfast menus on Sundays during this blessed time of year. Hope you enjoy this special brewsletter dedicated specifically to football and beer and the men and women who love them.

It's Football Season!! (As if you needed an excuse to drink more BEER . . .)

Come on . . . it's football season, a season of sharing, of giving. It's a time for letting go of differences and joining together in harmony and the spirit of the pigskin, regardless of what team you support. But you must be warned . . .

The people pictured at the left are Minnesota Vikings fans enjoying a Sunday evening Vikings game and lots of beer. Almost every Sunday and some Mondays from now until Christmas, you can see them purpling every corner of the brewery. In fact, on opening day there were no less than 200 Vikings fans at the brewery at any given time. This particular group -- led by hornblower Derek "The Dog" Grimme -- even chipped in and helped buy a GIANT screen TV in what they consider to be their corner of the brewery.

"Vikings fans bleed purple," The Dog said in a recent interview. The Dog, who has lived in the Phoenix area for eight years, said Four Peaks is THE Vikings bar in town because of its family atmosphere. "Everyone who comes here on game days has gone through the same crappy seasons together, and we can just look each other in the eyes and know what we're thinking." Vikings game days at Four Peaks have come to be characterized by the hollow, haunting sound of a Viking horn The Dog blows when the Vikings score. His projections for the team? "Playoffs, and THEN ask me again." That's a lot of horn- blowing.

Whether you bleed purple or some other less beautiful color, we welcome all of you -- Colts, Saints, Bears, Lions, Raiders, Bucs and even Cardinals fans! The more diversity the better, all in the spirit of THE game. Just don't blame us if your big foam cheese gets SQUASHED or if you leave with your Erlacher jersey SHREDDED into a thousand bits! (Remember, Vikings didn't get into Valhalla by being nice guys.) ARRRRGGGGHHH!!!

We're thrilled to announce that Four Peaks has scored a hat trick with local entertainment publications The Phoenix New Times, The Rep and Get Out! (Please forgive the hockey reference, football fans.)

The Phoenix New Times has listed Four Peaks as the reader's choice for "Best Brew Pub" FIVE YEARS RUNNING! "Reader's Choice" awards are very important to us . . . we're glad to know so many people enjoy our beer, food and ambiance enough to take the time to submit votes in our favor.

The Rep gave its "Best Brew Pub" honors to Four Peaks as well. Get Out magazine also gave Four Peaks "Best Brewery" for 2003. All publications wrote nice things about our place and though many people think "no press is bad press," we beg to differ. It's as refreshing as a tall, cool glass of 8th Street Ale to get good press . . . ask any local politician.

Anyway, we're proud of these honors and want to thank all of you loyal customers and supporters out there for making us what we are today. It's been a really long road with a few bumps here and there, but the vision we had almost 10 years ago is quickly becoming a reality thanks to all of you.

Special Football Sunday Menu Brings Eggs and Stuff to Brewery

For football season only, we're expanding our hours and our menu offerings to meet the needs of those who need breakfast food with their beer. Again, Chef Arthur Craft makes an artistry out of calories.

We're opening at 9 a.m. for awhile, which will change to 10 a.m. eventually. We'll be serving this special menu from when we open to around 2 p.m., along with our usual menu all day long.

Our special breakfast menu items include: chicken enchiladas & eggs your way, served with beans and potatoes; filet & eggs, served with country potatoes; eggs benedict w/jalapeno hollandaise, also served with country potatoes; the "Brewer's Breakfast," which is two eggs your way w/ toast, potatoes and bacon; and a ridiculously good "Breakfast Beer Bread" sandwich, which is sauteed peppers, onions and mushrooms, scrambled eggs, mozzarella, bacon and jalapeno hollandaise wrapped in our homemade spongey beer b
