Cheers!
Thanks for all the great feedback we received on our
last brewsletter. However, there was a typo if you can
believe it. The Flagstaff Beer Festival was not
September 10 but it was Saturday, August 10, 2002
from 3-7 p.m. Fun was had by all who attended.
If you have any comments, feedback, or questions on
anything please email us, we love to hear from you.
Four Peaks Beer Dinner Scheduled
The 8th Gourmet Four Peaks Beer Dinner is scheduled
for Wednesday October 2nd at 7p.m. It is $50 per
person (tax & gratuity included). Please stop in or call
480-303-9967 to purchase your tickets and reserve a
seat today! Act quickly as these popular dinners sell
out fast. The dinner will be prepared by our
chef/partner Arthur Craft. Art is a graduate of the
Culinary Institute of America in New York and he has
owned restaurants in the past (does Centro Cafe on
Thomas ring a bell?). Now you know why our food is so
good!!
The Reception will open with one of our cask-
conditioned beers selected by our brewmaster, Andy,
the day of the event.
The First Course will be Spicy Curried Duck--Shredded
duck in a spicy coconut curry sauce served over
basmati rice and fried plantains. The Kilt Lifter Scottish-
Style Ale will be served with the duck.
The Second Course will be Stuffed Tomato Salad--Ripe
heirloom tomato stuffed with goat cheese and a
Caribbean salsa served over mesclun mix in a prickly
pear vinaigrette. The ImPale Ale will be served with
this course. We purchased a large hop-back that
infuses hop flowers into the ImPale Ale so it is new and
has a much better hop characteristic!
The Third and main Course will be Paella Valencia--
Classic paella with lobster, whole shrimp, clams,
mussels, and spanish sausage over saffron rice. This
course will be served our seasonal ale the Oktoberfest.
If you're still hungry the Fourth and final Course will be
Frozen Orange
Souffle served with fresh berries and a trio of sauces.

New Additions to the Four Peaks Family |
 |
August 27th was quite a day for Four Peaks. Two new
additions were added to our family. Lauryn Elizabeth
Scussel (pictured left) was born at 12:57 a.m.
weighing in at 9 lbs. 8 ozs. She is the daughter of Jim
and Jennifer who are partners at Four Peaks. She just
made bar time. Does that mean that she has brewing
in her blood?
Connor Wade Roland (pictured below) was born at
8:37 p.m. that evening weighing in at 7 lbs. 6 ozs. He
is the son of Jim and Maureen Roland. Jim is a manager
at Four Peaks and Maureen was a server until she
became a nurse.
Congratulations and welcome to Four Peaks!

Arizona Peach Ale Name Changed |
 |
The Arizona Peach Ale was forced to be changed due
to an iced tea company from New York. Apparently,
they have trademarked our state and will not allow us
to use the name Arizona Peach. We have since
changed the name to New York Peach Ale. Arizona
Iced Tea is made in New York and sold in Arizona so
we thought we would brew the peach ale in Arizona
and call it New York Peach Ale. Sometimes you just
have to shake your head in amazement.

Seasonal Beers Coming Soon |
 |
The next seasonal beer due out on October 1st is the
Oktoberfest. It is a lager that is toasty, copper-
colored and malty sweet. This traditional Fest Beer is
about 5% alcohol by volume.
The ever-famous Pumpkin Porter will be on tap the
week before Halloween and go through Thanksgiving.
It is our traditional porter ale with real pumpkin
flavoring. We will have commemorative t-shirts
available for sale. It is about 4.5% alcohol by volume.
In December the English-Style Old Ale will be on tap. It
is a traditional Old Ale weighing in at about 7.5%
alcohol by volume. A Strong Ale brewed in the winter
months. In Australia, "Old" simply means dark ale. In
Britain, it is most commonly used to indicate a medium-
strong dark ale like Old Peculiar.
The Fat Bastard will be returning sometime between
now and February. We will let you know when exactly
it is tapped. This is a Belgian-Style Date Beer with
about 8% alcohol by volume.
